Ses recherches ont port\u00e9 sur l\u2019histoire du travail, des pratiques philanthropiques et des politiques sociales, tout particuli\u00e8rement dans l\u2019Allemagne du XIX\u00e8 si\u00e8cle. Elle a \u00e9galement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une approche \u00ab&nbsp;par le bas&nbsp;\u00bb de la R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique allemande et des pays communistes d\u2019Europe centrale.
